The main character is an author of a book which Harry ised his first year at Hogwarts, a book with the same title as the announced movie. It's probably for the best anyways, always run the risk of destroying continuity with prequels to characters

The best way to go would be to have the book about Albus Severus Potter and his time in hogwarts and have Harry and other basically non-existant. (They did this for the Percy Jackson series where he was in the book, but for a few pages)

Yeah I'm pretty sure a lot of times things like this are money grab, but then there are legitimate times where it isn't a money grab. Heck probably a money grab for hollywood but it doesn't mean JK feels the same way. She thought of a new story that takes place in the same universe so she's going to write it herself.
